It Starts with the Cotton

Long-staple Egyptian cotton makes longer, stronger, softer yarns that get better with washing instead of pilling. The towels we carry from Matouk, SFERRA and Yves Delorme are woven from these fibers — it's the single biggest difference between a towel that lasts two years and one that lasts ten.

Zero-Twist vs. Combed: The Feel Question

Zero-twist yarns — the secret behind Matouk's best-selling Milagro — leave fibers loosely bundled, so towels are plush, lofty and surprisingly quick to dry. Combed and ribbed constructions, like Yves Delorme's iconic Etoile, feel denser and more structured. Plush or tailored is a personal call; both are luxurious done well.

Weight Matters (to a Point)

Towel weight is measured in GSM — grams per square meter. Around 550 GSM is the sweet spot: substantial without taking all day to dry. Heavier isn't automatically better; construction and cotton quality matter more.

Bath Towel or Bath Sheet?

A bath towel (roughly 30" × 55") is the everyday workhorse. A bath sheet is dramatically larger — the bathrobe-in-towel-form experience. Many clients keep towels for daily use and a pair of bath sheets for the weekend-spa feeling.

Building the Set

Make Them Last
