These cuts are also completed "alla prima", meaning that the glass is cut directly without pre-sketching. The outcome depends on the trained eye and sense of proportion of the master cutter, who combines thousands of details into a single harmonious whole.

Just as the creator of the mosaic assembles the individual stones into perfect unity, so our grinders manually create individual facets on the surface of the Arctic bowl or vase. The "alla prima" technique, ie direct grinding to glass without pre-drawing, is a real proof of their artistic mastery. The result depends on the estimate and the sense of proportion that creates a perfectly harmonious work.
