Bar spirit glass, 45 ml

This ingenious edge cut for the Bar collection was created by the legendary designer Rudolf Eschler more than 80 years ago. It's this cut that sets these cut-crystal glasses apart from classic "shot glasses": light reflections in the heavy square base create an unexpected optical illusion of melting ice cubes. Clear cut crystal is complemented by the typical Moser colours (beryl, eldor, rosaline, alexandrite, aquamarine, topaz), colour shades of oceanite and smoke or coloured underlaying.

Specification

Design and Production

Optical play on clear or coloured crystal

In the Bar collection, Rudolf Esschler used a unique Moser method: the crystal glass is formed with abrupt force, followed by a meticulous edge cut. The illusion of melting ice cubes in the clear cut glass, created by the lines, is complemented by the use of typical Moser colours (beryl, eldor, rosaline, alexandrite, aquamarine, topaz) and oceanite and smoke colour shades. In 2019, two glass sizes in underlaid colours were added. For the most demanding customers and for exceptional occasions, the collection can be adorned with custom platinum or gold decor.

  • Hand-blown from environmentally friendly lead-free crystal
  • Hand-cut and polished to a high gloss
  • Made using the glass underlay technique

Designer

Rudolf Eschler

In the 1930s, Rudolf Eschler was one of the most successful Moser designers. His work formed a significant part of several world expositions in Chicago, Bruxelles and Paris. The timelessness of Eschler's work is also shown by the fact that, in addition to the Bar collection, his Culbuto line is also still in production. His perfume and liquor sets, recognisable by their strictly square shapes, are also highly prized by collectors and in auctions.
