Twinspin Vase, 30 cm by Moser

To combine the left and right-turning spiral into one art object may appear impossible. However, designer Jan ctvrtnik decided to try and extend the boundaries of the possible, creating the Twinspin vase. Its unique character is amplified by the colour combination of beryl underlaid with yellow opal, which gives it a pleasantly fresh character.

Design and production

Lines in two directions, united in harmony

The refined cut in combination with the vivid colours will amaze the viewer with an unending refraction of the light. Designer Jan ctvrtnik says "I was thinking about how to integrate the left- and right-turning spiral in one object. I started to weave them and turn them in my imagination, but I wasn't sure whether the crystal would be obedient enough during the cut. Thanks to the experience of Moser's glassworkers, we managed to make it a reality."

Designer

Jan Ctvrtnik

Jan ctvrtnik has received many prestigious awards, including the Grand Designer and Designer of the Year titles from the Czech Design Academy. He graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) and he also studied in Finland, Sweden and Peru. He also designs products with his unmistakable style for several multinational companies besides Moser.
