Botanical Palet by Carrière Frères

A scented wax tablet on a ribbon — no flame, no upkeep. Hang it in a wardrobe, tuck it in a drawer, or hook it over a door handle, and it perfumes the space quietly for months.

Carrière Frères, founded in 1884 and sister house to Trudon, treats each fragrance as a botanical study: a single plant, documented and rendered honestly rather than embellished. The palet is the most giftable object they make, and our best-selling piece of the house by a wide margin.

Botanicals

Cedar: A wood particularly prized in perfumery — dry, woody, enveloping and comforting, with a resinous base that reveals a certain freshness.

Lavender: Both wild and medicinal, sometimes powerful. Its fresh scent is characteristic of summer; lavender grows wild in the south of France and naturally evokes Provence.

Cypress: The ultimate woody fragrance — fresh and aromatic, its resinous facet mingling with moss to reflect the smell of forests.

Damask Rose: Discovered in Turkey, the rose exhibits its corolla of petals to reveal the finesse of its scent — rich and powdery.

La Rose Aime La Menthe: The fresh, vegetal notes of spearmint combined with a delicate scent of rose — rich and powdery, enveloping the atmosphere.

Orange Blossom: Sweet and slightly powdery, a white-flower scent with a waxy note. A summery ode to lightness.

Care

Not a candle — never light a palet. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. To revive the scent after several months, gently scratch the surface of the wax.
