The Large Illumination Base is the one to choose for bigger glass evergreens and hurricanes — a low cast-zinc platform whose LEDs light handblown glass from below, giving a tree or centerpiece a warm glow with no cord in sight. The rechargeable battery runs about 14 days between charges, a built-in timer turns the light off after six hours, and one button cycles through three brightness levels (this season's LEDs are a cool white tone).
