Rose Poivrée Candle — Giambattista Valli by Trudon
A bouquet of fresh, lush roses evoking Marie Antoinette's love of the flower, with a hint of Tuscan black pepper at its heart delivering subtle, unexpected harmony.
This special edition was created by Trudon in partnership with designer Giambattista Valli to celebrate the 2010 opening of his first store on rue Boissy d'Anglas in Paris.
Founded in 1643, Trudon is the oldest candle maker in the world, once supplying the court of Louis XIV. Each candle is hand-poured at the Trudon workshop in Normandy, France, in a glass vessel mouth-blown in Tuscany and inspired by the shape of a champagne bucket.

Candle Anatomy
- The Wax: Trudon's wax formulas are the fruit of specific developments and the source of its exceptional olfactory and burning qualities. Properly cared for, a Trudon candle leaves no smoke and no wax on the sides of the glass.
- The Wick: Made of cotton, chosen to suit the shape and size of each glass and the burning characteristics of each candle.
- The Glass: Each glass is unique and hand-crafted in Tuscany, its shape inspired by champagne buckets.
- The Emblem: Inspired by a bas relief found at the old Royal Wax Manufacture that once belonged to the Trudon family.
Care
On first use, allow the wax to melt fully across the surface — roughly two hours — to prevent tunneling. Trim the wick to 5 mm before each lighting, and never burn for more than two hours at a time.
